@sheldon.storeySheldon Storey is a queer multidisciplinary artist and curator working primarily with found material installations. Guided by principles of maximalism and collection, their work explores interests in science, language, sexuality, mental health, history, and the passage of time.
Focusing on the emotional pull of familiar objects, Sheldon’s work considers ideas of home, experience, and relationships. Their studio practice involves collecting both natural and found materials that inspire curiosity, wonder, and closer observation of the body and the spaces it occupies.
Using scale, form, place, and materiality, Sheldon’s work explores the tension between the familiar and the strange while examining how meaning becomes attached to objects and environments.
A graduate of OCAD University, Sheldon received the Haydn Davis Memorial Award for their graduating exhibition. Their work has been exhibited across Canada, Europe, and the United States, and is held in both private and public collections.
