Kim Beavis Sanderson (She/They) Kim Beavis Sanderson is a New Media Artist based in Nogojiwanong/Peterborough, Ontario. Their work explores a wide range of themes, expressions, and observations of the world around them, using art to encourage discussions within inclusive and interactive environments through the synthesis of art and technology.

Kim’s background includes Computer Aided-Design, animation, and graphic arts. They are the owner of Beofor Studios Inc. and work from Studio 3 in the Commerce Building in downtown Nogojiwanong/Peterborough. Their work can regularly be seen at First Friday events, where they have participated since 2018.

Kim has exhibited and presented work through a variety of festivals, exhibitions, and showcases, including The Erring at King George Festival, the Toronto Animated Image Society anijam competition, Arts Etobicoke’s Reframing Reality: Art in the Digital Age, the Art Gallery of Peterborough’s Kawartha Autumn Studio Tour, and the Ontario Society of Artists’ 151st Juried Exhibition, The Unquiet North. They were also selected to animate a mural for Toronto Junction’s Window Wonderland in 2025.

Alongside their studio practice, Kim teaches locally to through the SHSM Arts & Culture program, leading workshops focused on technology, computer animation, and art. Outside the studio, they can be found at the local rink playing hockey. In Kim’s words “Life is Motion.”
