Accessible

David Hickey’s work is inspired by the lakes and forests of the Kawartha region. Working in an abstract-impressionist style, his work invites viewers to bring their own perspective and experience to each piece.

David divides his time between Peterborough and Lakefield, where his work is showcased at ECCO Art Gallery and Studio. His recent exhibition there featured both painting and sculpture.

Throughout his career, David has also supported local fundraising initiatives through the donation of his artwork as a way of giving back to the community that has supported his practice.

Painting by David Hickey depicts a birch forest with tall white trunks marked by black and brown patches, set against a background of dark blue and green trees. Snow-covered ground features long blue and purple shadows.
