WebsiteStan Olthuis is a Canadian multi-disciplinary visual artist based in Nogojiwanong/Peterborough. A graduate of the Ontario College of Art (OCAD), his work explores our relationship to the world around us through bold colour, abstract forms, and playful audience interaction.
Inspired by symbols, patterns, and sacred geometry, Stan creates work that invites curiosity and participation. Concept and process are central to his practice, and he works with a wide range of materials and techniques to create work that feels immediate, energetic, and engaging.
Stan began his formal art education in Chicago, studying with celebrated Dutch artist and master printmaker Henrik Krijger. His work has been exhibited widely in public and private galleries and is held in both private and corporate collections.
Recent exhibitions include Interconnected, a solo exhibition at the Art Gallery of Peterborough (2024), and Watershed, a group exhibition at the Art Gallery of Peterborough (2024).
Upcoming exhibitions include Ecco Gallery in Lakefield, Gagné Contemporary in Toronto, and the Elora Centre for the Arts in 2026.
