Kim Beavis Sanderson (She/They) is a New Media Artist, and Traditional Animator. They explore queer themes and expressions, and the world around them. Using their art to further discussions in an inclusive, interactive environment, Kim creates Augmented Reality Animations to tell their stories beyond the medium.
Kim’s background is in Computer Aided-Design (SSFC), Computer Animation (SSFC), Illustration, and Graphic Artist. They grew up and currently live in Nogojiwanong/Peterborough, Ontario, Canada. They own a Creative Studio (Beofor Studios Inc.), and have a Commercial Studio in the Commerce Building in downtown PTBO/NOGO, Studio 3 where they can be seen at First Friday events throughout the year. They have been a participant in the Erring at King George Festival (2022), Toronto Animated Image Society Showcase (2017, 2023), and the Art Gallery of Peterborough’s Kawartha Autumn Studio Tour (2024).
Kim also instructs locally to high schools through the SHSM, Arts & Culture program, where they run workshops focusing on technology, computer animation and art. When not in the studio Kim can be found at the local rink playing hockey.
