WebsitePatrick Fitzgerald graduated from the Ontario College of Art & Design in 1988 and later studied at the Arts Students’ League in New York City with Max Ginsberg and at the Gage Academy of Fine Arts with Steven Assael.
Working primarily in oil, Patrick’s paintings often combine abstract composition with realistic subject matter. He is drawn to an earth-toned palette and prefers to paint from life, with influences that reflect both his rural upbringing and more modern urban experiences.
His work has recently focused on plein air oil studies created in and around his hometown of Douro, Ontario. His subjects include landscapes, portraits, and still-life paintings. In 2024, Patrick was accepted into the Portrait Society of Canada National Juried Show.
