WebsiteThe son of an immigrant lumberjack from Kapuskasing and Acadian Mother, Nick Leniuk owes his life trajectory to opportunities afforded through the forest industry. Nick pays homage to the forest transforming beautiful trees into inspirational stone sculptures.
He continues to refine his artistic process in his Peterborough ON studio. Using no automated equipment, only hand operated tools Nick creates his sculptures from his Peterborough studio. In 2019, RMC Professor Lubomyr Luciuk, a prominent Canadian advocate of Ukrainian diaspora, chose Nick to create a sculpture commemorating the Lviv Pavillion’s 50 years of engagement in Kingston ON community. The sculpture named ‘Enduring Roots’ was unveiled at Kingston City Hall and was attended by numerous dignitaries, including the honourable Andriy Schevchenko, Ukrainian Ambassador to Canada at the time.
Nick’s work has been exhibited in numerous juried shows, and acquired by collectors in North America and Europe. Nick is represented by Koyman Galleries in Ottawa Ontario.
