ABOUT
The Kawartha Autumn Studio Tour (KAST) is a signature initiative of the Art Gallery of Peterborough and has been presented by the Gallery since 1984. As one of the longest-running studio tours in Canada, it has become a much-anticipated cultural experience in the Peterborough–Kawarthas region.
For one vibrant autumn weekend, participating artists open the doors to their working studios, welcoming visitors into the spaces where ideas take shape and materials transform into finished works. From painting and sculpture to ceramics, textiles, photography, and more, KAST offers a rare opportunity to experience art in the place where it is created.
For over forty years, the Art Gallery of Peterborough has shaped KAST into a vibrant platform for artists and audiences alike. Guests can watch live demonstrations, learn about artistic processes, and connect directly with artists across the region, experiencing firsthand the creative spirit the Gallery has long championed. Whether you’re a seasoned collector or simply curious, the Kawartha Autumn Studio Tour invites you to explore creativity up close and discover the remarkable talent rooted in our community.
Designed as a self-guided experience, KAST encourages visitors to create their own cultural road trip through the Peterborough-Kawarthas. Studios can be found in urban neighbourhoods, rural landscapes, and small towns alike, making the journey itself part of the experience.
The 2026 tour takes place September 26 & 27 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm. This free, self-guided event allows visitors to plan their own route and explore at their own pace.
